Commercial Pilot Airplane (CAX) Calculations Practice Exam

If the center of gravity (CG) of a gyroplane is located outside the CG envelope, it means that the aircraft is not balanced as intended, which can lead to stability issues and may affect the handling characteristics of the gyroplane. The CG envelope represents the safe limits of CG location for the specific aircraft to ensure proper flight behavior.

In this case, although the maximum gross weight is not exceeded, having the CG outside of the defined envelope indicates a potentially dangerous situation. The aircraft could become uncontrollable, particularly in certain flight conditions, as it may not perform within the desired aerodynamic characteristics that are accounted for in the design.

Thus, the correct conclusion acknowledges that, while the weight limit is adhered to, the CG being outside the envelope poses a significant risk to the aircraft’s performance and should be rectified before flying. Proper weight and balance control is essential for safe aircraft operation, highlighting the importance of keeping the CG within the specified limits regardless of the weight condition.
